Guzmania. This bromeliad can be epiphytic, lythophytic or a terrestrial, that has a shiny soft folige and can vary in colour considerably, from dark green/red with variegations of both. Forming a rosette which narrows to the centre allowing a stalk to rise from 1cm to 60cm tall, carrying an inflorescense that can be red, yellow, orange, white or Maroon. Which can also be variegated and is long lasting.
The plant is presented in a half basket, in the size matching the option selected. Half Baskets: Wire frame basket with coconut liner attached to a round tree fern mount including hook, suitable for hanging. The hook is galvanised wire. Available in sizes of approximately 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 200mm, and 250mm - where the size is the width of the basket. The diameter of the mount is about 100mm larger than the width of the basket for each size.
Water every second day in warmer months, when needed in cooler months. Feed during growth and flowering. Bromeliads need to be re-potted when they have out grown their pot. The best time to re-pot them is when their flowering season has finished. Keep in 50% - 75% shade (e.g. morning sun). Provide protection from snails and slugs.
