As in pot culture it is often necessary to do it in stages.

Using a saw, cut on a 45 degree angle.
Select the mount you intend to grow onto.
Clean up top half and if needed add a little bush moss.
Make the holes with a drill or an awl.
Push the looped wire through pot and mount.
Twist the two ends of the wire together.
Hit the twisted ends back into the mount.
The final result!
